It is time for winterization

Active or passive wintering?

Active wintering: slowing down of the pool operation with a filtration of 2 to 3 hours per day.

Passive wintering: total stop of pool operation during winter. It is mandatory in areas with risk of frost and when the filtration is not in frost-free circuit.

 

Cleaning the filter

FILTER DETAILER: powerful formula against limescale deposits and clogging accumulated in the filter mass.

Sand filter :
- 1 liter of FILTER DETAILER for 75 to 100 kg of filtering mass.
- Carry out a backwash, pour the product into the tank and leave it to act for at least one hour before backwashing again.

Diatomaceous earth filter, cartridge filter :
- Filter cartridges or support candles and diatomaceous earth cloths are immersed in a container filled with FILTER STARTER diluted to 10%.
- Leave to act for at least 1 hour, then brush and rinse.

 

Preservation of the basin

- Vacuum.
- Lower the water level.
- Clean the water line with NET' BORD GEL.

NET' BORD GEL cleans the water line against grease and scale.

- Double function as a descaler and remover.
- All coatings: tiles, liner, polyester.
- Previously moisten the surfaces to be treated.
- Apply NET'BORD GEL directly on walls.
- Leave to act for about 5 minutes.
- Blot by wiping off dissolved dirt.
- Rinse thoroughly with basin water.
- Repeat for stubborn stains.

 

Winter water treatment

WINTERNAGE 40 prepares the water to resist algae and mold growth and fights the encrustation of scale deposits and dissolved minerals.

- Fights against the proliferation of algae.
- Contains no metals (copper, etc.).
- Prolonged effect against algae.
- Effective regardless of the pH of the treated water.
- Compatible with all types of filtration, coatings and treatments.
- Non-foaming.

How to use
In case of cloudy or green water:

- Check and adjust the pH value between 7.0 and 7.4.
- Perform shock disinfection with   15g / m3 of GRANULAR CHLORINE V60 or 1 tablet / m3 of CHLORINE SHOCK 20 G.

When the basin is ready to winter:

- Correct the water level under the skimmers.
- Close the suction circuit through the skimmers.
- Pour WINTERNING 40 directly into the pool.
- Activate the filtration for one hour by suction through the bottom drain for a good distribution of the product.

 

Fight against frost

Wintering floats:

Each 50 cm long wintering float is hollow and flexible. The floats are hooked together to form a chain that is installed diagonally across the pool.
During periods of frost, ice can compress the hollow float, which absorbs the ice pressure and thus protects the walls of the pool.
To stand upright in the water, each float is weighted so that it is submerged to its full height.
In very cold regions, rather than deploying a single line of floats diagonally across the basin, it is recommended to install a continuous line of
loop floats inside the basin geometry (see diagram).

Expansion plugs:

They seal the discharge ports, allowing the pipes to be drained and thus protected from frost.

Gizzmo:

Gizzmo protects the walls of the skimmer against frost. It is screwed into the suction thread at the bottom of the skimmer (1"1/2 or 2").
